Graduation Pathways

Beginning with the class of 2023, students graduating from a Pennsylvania public high school will be required to meet one of five pathways illustrating college, career, & community readiness. Many of our students will satisfy either the Keystone Proficiency, Keystone Composite, or CTE Concentrator Pathways.

Keystone Proficiency Pathway -  students who achieve at least proficiency in the three (3) keystone exams administered after a keystone triggered course. These exams include algebra, literature & biology. After completion of the keystone exams, students who do not earn proficiency on all three keystone exams have additional pathways to achieve this graduation requirement.

Keystone Composite Pathway -  students who earn a combined score of at least 4452. Students with this minimum combined score must earn at least one proficiency & cannot earn below basic for any of the three keystone exams.

Keystone 2-Score Composite Pathway with non-numeric Proficient: Earning a composite score of at least 2939 on two of the three Keystone exams (while achieving at least a proficient score on one of the two exams and no less than a basic score on the remaining exam) when a non-numeric Proficient was earned in a Keystone Exam pursuant to Act 136 of 2020.

CTE Pathway - students who attend WACTC and are likely to succeed in the industry-based competency assessment such as the NOCTI.
