School Supply Lists
Each grade level provides a suggested list of supplies for students to procure prior to the start of school.
GRADE 4
- 7 or more pocket, expandable, accordion folder (cloth is better than plastic)
- #2 pencils & erasers (to be replenished throughout the school year)
- Closed, manual pencil sharpener to keep inside of the desk
- 1 large, soft-sided pencil bag (no boxes please)
- 24 count box of crayons or a set of colored pencils
- Calculator (basic) labeled with child's name
- Yellow highlighters (2)
- Child scissors (2)
- Black, low odor, dry erase markers (4) and dry erase eraser (1)
- Large glue sticks (5)
- 1 bottle of liquid glue (ex. Elmer's)
- 1 inch three ring binder with a clear pocket front
- 1 double-pocket folders with 3 ring fasteners inside (any color)
- Girls provide Clorox wipes - Boys provide a box of tissues
GRADE 5
- Calculator – Texas Instrument TI-30Xa;(place student’s name on it in permanent marker)
- Binder –1-½”3-ring white vinyl binder with clear view pocket on the front (This will be used in science.)
- Child-sized scissors (pointed tip)
- Color pencils and small box of crayons
- Large glue sticks (resupply as needed)
- Pencils and erasers (resupply as needed)
- Pencil bag (NO box)
- 8-pocket plastic accordion portfolio
- Yellow highlighters
- Ruler (one side, standard up to sixteenth inch, and other side metric)
- Box of color markers (washable)
- 1 box of Kleenex (resupply as needed)
- Clorox wipes (resupply as needed)
- Double pocket folder with fasteners inside (for Computer Application)
GRADE 6
- Black and white (or other color) journal book
- Calculator - Texas Instruments TI-30Xa or TI-30XaII (place student’s name on it in a permanent marker)
- Small box of each: colored pencils, crayons, thin markers, pencils and erasers
- Pencil bag (no hard pencil boxes)
- 4 pack of dry erase markers and a dry erase eraser
- Pens with blue or black ink
- Personal pencil sharpener for desk
- Child size scissors
- Ruler with both inches and centimeters
- 1 container of Clorox or Lysol disinfecting wipes (75 or more)
- 2 Large Book covers - fabric or paper
- 2 double pocket folders with fasteners - one for Computer Applications and one for World Language
- Kleenex
- 4 pack of highlighters and 2 large glue sticks
- 2 packs of 3 x 5 lined note cards (100 in each pack)
- Compass and Protractor - (place student’s name on it in a permanent marker) will be needed toward the middle of the school year

McMurray Elementary School is located at 626 East McMurray Road. This school was built at a cost of $14 million and opened in September 1993. The school serves more than 950 students in Grades 4-5-6. There are 39 classroom teachers and additional special area teachers and support personnel on staff . There is also one building principal and one assistant principal.
