Peters Township offers several high-profile opportunities for our student athletes to participate in throughout the school year. We are extremely proud of our rich traditions in Western Pennsylvania high school athletics. We are members of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) and of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).
The purpose of our athletic program is to encourage and foster opportunities for students to participate in activities other than the academic. This develops learning outcomes in skills, emotional patterns, communication, interpersonal group dynamics, teamwork, leadership, and general knowledge.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS
Shuttle for Home Football Games
To
alleviate some of the traffic around the High School during home
games and to be able to accommodate our visitors in the High School
lots, we are encouraging our Peters Township community to utilize the
Middle School and McMurray Elementary parking lots when coming to the
game. Fans using the parking shuttle in these lots will have a smooth
and quick exit from the stadium back to the sites at the conclusion of
the game. More... (pdf)
Impact Testing Program
The Peters Township HS Athletic Department
currently utilizes the IMPACT concussion management software program.
This software program monitors sports related concussions, helping to
determine when it is safe to return to play.
Student
athletes in the sports of football, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer,
& wrestling are highly encouraged to undergo this baseline test
before participation administered by the PTHS sports medicine staff.
Any other student athlete who would like to have this baseline sports
related concussion evaluation can request the test from the sports
medicine department or athletic trainer through the athletic office
Any further questions contact Andrew (athletic trainer) at 724-941-6250 ext 5607.
