The middle school STAR Team is a student assistance program designed to help students who are having difficulty experiencing success in school. The team consists of teachers, counselors, principals, the school social worker, a mental health and a drug and alcohol liaison. The teams meet regularly to develop interventions to assist the student. Discussions are kept in confidence.
STAR Team is designed to help students struggling or at-risk. Some key areas STAR Team can provide interventions on are:
- Attendance
- Drop in grades
- Mental health
- Drug and Alcohol use
- Disciplinary issues
- Peer relations
Students may be referred to STAR by parents, teachers, administrators, or other students. If you would like to make a confidential referral, please fill out the SAP Referral Form below and return it to the PTMS Counseling Department.
