PTMS Library Media Center
Welcome to the PTMS Library Media Center! Our Library Media Center contains a wide selection of fiction and nonfiction books and magazines. In addition, library computers are available for student use during the day and during study lab time. Below are some general procedures for our library:
Two books can be checked out by each student for three weeks and renewed for an additional three weeks.
Overdue notices are sent to the students periodically. After the third overdue notice, students and parents are blocked from Power School.
If a book cannot be found, students are responsible for full replacement cost.
For more information on the library, please visit our PTMS Library page in Canvas.

Accelerated Reader Program
The objective of the Middle School Accelerated Reader program is to improve students' reading and comprehension skills through independent reading. Students are required to read books from the Accelerated Reader Book Lists, come to the library, and take a computerized Accelerated Reader test. It is the student's responsibility to find the book, read it, and take the quiz. Students can take the tests during study lab time, before school or after school.
AR Requirements for 7th Grade: Seven due dates throughout the year -one book per due date - each book must be at least 5 points
AR Requirements for 8th grade: Four due dates throughout the year (one per 9 weeks) -1-3 books per due date totaling 15 EARNED points per 9 weeks. No book level or point restrictions.
To see if a book meets the requirements, please visit AR Book Find.
