Peters Township High School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities that provide students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills, and build meaningful relationships outside of the classroom. Below you will find information on PTHS activities, the sponsor's name and contact information, and a brief description of the club. Meeting dates and times are shared via the Morning Announcements as they are scheduled.

American Sign Language (ASL) - Mrs. Pinto
A student-led club where students learn and practice American Sign Language to build fluency and improve communication with deaf and hearing-impaired individuals. -
Art Club – Mrs. DeGiovanni and Ms. McCutcheon
Students have a dedicated hour each week to work on their own art projects or classwork. -
Best Buddies – Mr. Stephan
This club focuses on building friendships between people with and without disabilities. -
Book Club – Mrs. Rose
A student-led club that meets monthly after school to discuss books, choose new reads, and plan activities. -

A student-led club that reads scripture and discusses its impact on daily life. -
Champion School Club – Mrs. Clancy
This group promotes social inclusion through inclusive sports, leadership, and whole-school activities. -

A student-led club where players of all skill levels are welcome to enjoy the game of chess. -

Students who participate are responsible for organizing events and raising money for class activities. Class Officers are also a part of Student Council and represent the student body. -
Computer Club – Mrs. Stawartz
This club is for students to work through coding exercises, primarily in Python, and can earn college credits through Carnegie Mellon University's Computer Science Academy. -

A student-led for students interested in cooking and baking. -
*Cyber Security Club – Ms. S. Palermo
A student-led club where students compete in cyber security competitions through the United States Air Force Academy. -

A student-led club where students play Dungeons & Dragons, a social table-top role-playing game. -

A student-led club where students participate in team-based multiplayer video game competitions. -

A student-led club that is a welcoming place for all to learn about, express, and share a love of fashion and style. -

A student-led club that empowers and supports young women within PTHS and the surrounding communities. -
Forensics Team (Speech & Debate) - Mrs. Groninger, Ms. Bandik and Ms. Patton
Students participate in regional and state speech and debate competitions to develop public speaking skills and gain self-confidence. -
French Club – Mrs. Heirendt
Students meet to discuss the French culture, music, and activities. -
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) - Mr. Good and Ms. S. Palermo
This club is for students interested in business and leadership, who can compete in events at the regional, state, and national level. -
German Club – Ms. Scott
Students meet to discuss the German culture, music, and activities. -

A student-led club where students read and discuss graphic novels. -
Horticulture Club – Mr. Orend
This club teaches students practical gardening and plant cultivation skills using raised beds and a greenhouse. -

A student-led club designed to help students learn more about healthcare careers and compete in HOSA events. -
Interact Club – Ms. Cunningham and Ms. Wilmus
A volunteer-based club that fundraises and performs hands-on projects to give back to the community. -
Law and Government Club – Mr. Brado
This club discusses current events and governmental issues and runs the PTHS Mock Trial team. -
Marching Band – Mr. Young
The largest student organization at PTHS, the marching band is a dynamic ensemble that performs at football games, parades, and festivals. -

This club explores various math topics and participates in math competitions. -

A student-led club that explores film through discussion while connecting movie fans and students interested in film careers. -
National Honor Society – Mrs. Kocan
This invitation-only society promotes scholarship, service, leadership, and character among students. -

A spirited group that plays upbeat music at basketball and winter sports events to boost school spirit and support athletes. -

Students meet twice a month to take and edit photos, and participate in photography-related contests and games. -

Stage Crew – Mr. Burns and Mr. Zippay
Students serve the district by controlling the lights and sound for events in the auditorium, gym, stadium, and cafeteria. -
Student Ambassadors - Ms. Simmons
This club organizes new student orientation and facilitates mentorship between first-year students and older students to promote high school success. -
Student Council – Mr. Albright
A student-run organization that plans events and communicates student ideas across all grade levels. -
Students Active for Environment (SAFE) - Mr. Compeggie
A student group that promotes environmental awareness through projects, partnerships, and activities that support sustainability. -
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) – Mrs. Hodgin-Frick
This club comes up with ways to deter students from making poor decisions related to topics like drugs, alcohol, and texting while driving. -
Thespian Troupe – Mrs. Cygrymus and Mrs. Mzsanski
This club is for students interested in theatre, both on and off stage, who participate in a variety of productions and workshops. -
Video Club – Ms. Hodgin-Frick
This club works with both pre-production and live video production. -

A student-led club that provides a comfortable space for girls interested in STEM fields, with meetings that include hands-on activities. -

A student-led club that has trained tutors who help peers with their writing needs to foster a better and more confident writing environment.
