Bower Hill Welcomes a New Principal
On November 17, the
Peters Township Board of School Directors voted to hire Mr. Robert Garvey as
the new Principal of Bower Hill Elementary School. Mr. Garvey comes to
Peters Township from the Bethel Park School District where he is currently the
Principal of Ben Franklin Elementary School. He was previously the Assistant
Principal at Neil Armstrong Middle School (grades 5-6) for two years and taught
at the fifth grade level in Bethel Park for seven years prior. He holds his
bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and his master’s degree in
Education from Johns Hopkins University.
No official start
date has been set for Mr. Garvey at this time, but we will begin his transition
to the Bower Hill family as soon as possible. As a Peters Township resident
and Bower Hill kindergarten parent, he has already begun to get acquainted with
the building and its traditions over the past few months. We look forward to
having him join Mrs. Franczyk as they lead the Bower Hill team!
