Our return to school for the 2020-2021 school year has been significantly different than in years past. The pervasive and rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19 has caused dramatic changes in how we plan for and deliver education to our children. The safety of our students, our staff, and our community have been at the forefront of our planning. Our planning throughout has been based on information from scientific literature, CDC recommendations, guidance from the PA Department Health and PA Department of Education, and parent and teacher survey responses.
Knowing that it is impossible to develop a plan that is favorable to all and fully understanding that our plan will change as the course of the pandemic changes, our planning will continue to be guided by the following principles:
- We will balance the educational imperative to open our schools for in-person instruction with the public health imperative to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
- We will provide options for parents to include both full-time in-person instruction and full-time remote instruction, as permitted by the Governor’s Orders and PDE/DOH guidance, and COVID-19 conditions in our region.
- We will prepare for the possibility of transitioning from in-person instruction to remote instruction in a quick and efficient manner in response to the prevalence of disease in our region.

We will add new information as it becomes available to assist our families and community.
