Dance Rules and Dress Code:
Please note that dress for this event is semi-formal. Students are reminded to remember of the dress code when purchasing or picking out attire.  Since the dance is a school function, students are expected to take pride in their appearance and to represent themselves and the school with pride.
Students who do not comply with the dress code will not be admitted to the dance.
Please abide by the following guidelines:

  • Dresses cannot be backless or strapless.  All dresses must have some kind of strap or sleeve.   The strap or sleeve must be attached to the dress.  Straps from undergarments do not count as a strap to a dress.
  • Tube-tops and strapless shirts are not permitted.
  • Skirts and dresses must be of the appropriate length, nothing too short or too tight (i.e., no bodycon dresses).  Skirts and dresses must be mid-thigh in length.
  • Low cut or sheer (see-through) dresses or tops are prohibited.
  • Clothing with “cut outs” on the back, sides or front is not permitted.
  • Exposed/bare midriffs are prohibited.
  • Dress shirts must have sleeves.
  • Shorts and holes in pants are prohibited.
  • Sports apparel and hats of any kind are not permitted. This includes bandanas/scarves/hoods, excluding items of verifiable religious importance.
  • Students are not permitted to wear any clothing that exposes any type of undergarment.

If students are unsure if their attire is appropriate, please contact the Middle School Counselors before an outfit is purchased.

  • Only PTMS 8th grade students may attend the dance.
  • Dates are not required to attend the dance; it is just a fun evening to celebrate the end of 8th grade.
  • Limos/party buses/RVs are prohibited.
