PTHS Freshman Orientation: August
11
Peters Township High School is
excited to welcome our newest class to our school. While this will be an
unusual start to the year for all students, we wanted to be sure to welcome our
freshman class and provide them with an orientation and ongoing
supports as part of the High School experience.
On Tuesday, August 11, all 9th graders
who have opted for traditional, in-classroom education this fall are
invited to attend an orientation session. In accordance with our safety plan
and regulations outlined by the Departments of Health and Education, we will be
dividing the class into two sections:
- Group 1: Last Names
A – Mal will attend from 9-10:30 a.m.
- Students will last
names starting with A
– G will enter through the courtyard doors and should be
dropped off by the football stadium entrance.
- Students with last
names starting with H
– Mal will enter through the high schools main building
entrance.
- Group 2: Last Names
Mar- Z will attend from 11-12:30 p.m.
- Students will last
names starting with Mar-S
will enter through the courtyard doors and should be
dropped off by the football stadium entrance.
- Students with last
names starting with T-Z
will enter through the high schools main building
entrance.
Students will engage in small group
activities to help orient them to the school while also receiving a tour of the
campus. Two to three upperclassman ambassadors will be leading each small
group – and running tours.
Throughout the year, students will
have the opportunity to meet with these same ambassadors for activities and
discussions regarding their high school experience.
Please note that this orientation
is for students only and all safety precautions will be taken while students
are at the school and masks will be required. Please note that if you
are sick, have a fever or have been exposed to someone who has a confirmed case
of COVID-19, please do not come to school.
Freshman Orientation for Remote Students
Students who have opted to participate in online learning from
home will engage in a virtual platform orientation that will help them manage
and plan out their online learning. Orientation for virtual students will
be at 11:00 a.m. on August 11th. Students who have been registered for
remote instruction will receive a zoom link via their school email account on
August 10th with instructions on how to join their orientation meeting
with their ambassadors.

regarding freshman orientation please contact Ms. Alyssa Simmons at [email protected].
