About Us

Pleasant Valley PTA has a strong history of positive involvement in school life. Since 1964, it has existed to advocate for children and work with teachers to strengthen and enrich school experience for all the children at Pleasant Valley.

There is an impressive degree of involvement from a broad range of parents over the course of a school year. In recent years the membership of the PTA has averaged 475 each year. Apart from countless hours spent in classrooms, parents donated additional hours of time to PTA sponsored activities last year. The PTA provides a structure where parents can have a voice in the school system.

The mission of the Pleasant Valley PTA is to support the vision of Peters Township School District by sharing in the commitment with parents, staff and community to develop self-directed learners and well-rounded citizens. Bringing into closer relation the home and school environments so that parents and teachers may share in the education and development of our children and encourage parent and student involvement with a family friendly focus.

PTA Reflections Program

Reflections is a National PTA program designed to enhance arts education. The Reflections Program provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts through visual art, literature, film/video production, photography, dance choreography or musical composition.

This year's theme is "The Magic of a Moment" and the entry due date is October 30, 2012.  Please encourage your child to participate in this rewarding program.  Entries must be the original work of ONE student. A consent form must be used in any category IF the entry includes a recognizable person or voice. Visual artwork must be no larger than 8x10 including the mat and must fit in a manilla envelope (artwork may be up to 24x30" if a CD image saved as a jpeg is set in the envelope).
