PTHS National Merit Semifinalists

Seven students from Peters Township High School have been named semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are among an elite group of 16,000 students from across the nation to earn this honor.

Seniors Luke Gallagher, Pratiik Kaushik, Garrett Langley, Paul Luniewski, Shruthi Shivkumar, Benjamin Zeisloft and Wen Quan Zheng will now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $33 million, that will be offered next spring. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

In 2017, three students from Peters Township High School were awarded National Merit Scholarships.

“We are so proud of these talented students,” said Principal Lori Pavlik. “This recognition is a validation of years of hard work and dedication to their studies. We look forward to more good news as they move through the competition.”
