The American Math Exam will be given in room 119 on February 7, 2019 at 7:45 am! Any student is eligible to take the exam, but current Algebra II students & above are targeted. The exam is free, entirely voluntary, and will last approximately 2 hours. Students who score highly enough become eligible to move onto the next level of the test; with the grand prize being a chance to participate as a member of the American team of the International Math Olympiad.Participating students are responsible to make-up any missed work as a result of participation, but absence from periods 1-3 will be excused. Anyone who would like to sign up can do so via a survey in your Naviance/Family Connection Student account. To access the survey, log into the student account of Naviance, and click on the "About Me" tab at the top of the page. On the far left-hand side, you will see a survey titled "American Math Exam Sign-up". Click on that link and fill out the required information.
Should you sign up and decide against participating later, please simply let Mrs. Prinsen know via e-mail ([email protected]) to remove your name from the list. Questions should be directed to Mrs. Prinsen in the counseling office. Resources for preparation are linked on our webpage as is the parent letter containing additional information directly from the MAA national organization.
