Peters Township High School senior Mark McFarlin has been named a semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Mark is among an elite group of 16,000 students from across the nation to earn this honor. He will now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $33 million. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
