Introduction The 7th grade Social Studies curriculum will begin with a brief review of geographical principles and then will progress to the analysis of the early colonization of the New World and the clash between the arriving Europeans and the indigenous tribes of North America. The remaining portion of the school year will be dedicated to a rigorous study of United States History starting in the 1770s with the American Revolution and concluding with the American Civil War and Reconstruction.
