School Board Director Profiles
Lori Cuervo - Vice President
Lori Cuervo and her husband David have resided in Peters Township since 1991. They have two children. One has graduated from PTHS, and the other is still attending school in PTSD. Mrs. Cuervo has served our schools and community through many organizations including the PTA, the PT Character Counts Committee, the Act 48 Continuing Professional Education Committee, the Act 1 Tax Commission, the Comprehensive Planning Committee, and the Math Curriculum Committee. She has a bachelor of science degree in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University, has worked in the power generation industry for 25 years, and founded two companies that own and operate power generating facilities in the United States. Mrs. Cuervo has served on the School Board since 2009.

Ronald Dunleavy
Mr. Dunleavy graduated from Peters Township High School in 1977 and went on to graduate from Washington D.C. JATC School. He returned to Peters Twp. in 1993. He is currently employed by an electrical contractor in a management position. Mr. Dunleavy is serving as the Peters Township School District Representative to PT Cable Board. He and his wife Rhonda have two children in the high school and three in college.

Lynn Erenberg
Mrs. Erenberg and her husband Rich, have lived in Peters Township since 1993. They have two sons Andrew and Michael.

Mrs. Erenberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She was employed by two major airlines for 17 years where she worked in several departments including instructing and training of new hires and existing employees. Mrs. Erenberg has dedicated several years volunteering in the Peters Township schools and has served on PTA boards as well as other local community boards.

Cindy Golembiewski - President
Cindy and her family have been Peters Township residents since 1993. She and her husband have three children who are all graduates of Peters Township High School. Over the years, Mrs. Golembiewski has served the Peters Township schools and community through her work in the PTA, as a CCD and Vacation Bible School teacher, and as a frequent volunteer in our schools. Prior to her service on the School Board, she was also a Board member for the Cheerleading Boosters, Township Basketball Boosters and was PTA president for four consecutive years in Bower Hill and McMurray Elementary. Mrs. Golembiewski has spent much of her career working for her husband's building supply and contracting companies. She is working toward her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and is currently in her third year at Duquesne University.
 
Her service on the Board began in 2006, and she has chaired the Personnel and Policy Board committees during her tenure, as well as serving as Board President currently in her second year. She has served on the Safety Committee, the Vision Committee, and the GPA committee, and she is currently a member of the District’s Comprehensive Planning Committee.
 
Sandra Gregg

Sandy Gregg and her husband Rob have lived in Peters Township since 1986. They have three children who were raised here in Peters Township. Prior to her current term on the School Board, Sandy has formerly held positions on the Peters Township Board of School Directors as well as the Peters Township Parks and Recreation Board. Throughout her years of service to the community, Sandy also helped to implement the Youth Exemplifying Sportsmanship (Y.E.S.) effort within the schools and our community. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the Pennsylvania State University.

David Paul Hvizdos
Mr. Hvizdos has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2004. He has served as the Chairman of the Buildings, Grounds and Transportation Committee for five years and as President for the Board for two years. He is an attorney in private practice here in Peters Township and has been a resident since 1990. Mr. Hvizdos earned a B.S. from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, an M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Duquesne University.

Thomas McMurray
Thomas McMurray is a lifetime resident of McMurray and a graduate of Peters Township High School. Since joining the Board in 1983, he has served as President for 4 years, Vice-President for 5 years, and has chaired the Finance Committee and Personnel Committee for several years. He has been a member of the Intermediate Unit # 1 Board of Directors since 1994 and held the offices of President, Vice President, and Treasurer.

Mr. McMurray graduated from Davis and Elkins College with a degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is employed by Golden Eagle Equipment Company as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. McMurray has volunteered as an emergency medical technician with the Peters Township Ambulance Service since 1969. He and his wife Sandy have three children, Michael, Matthew, and Melissa.

William Merrell
William (Bill) Merrell has lived in the Venetia area of Peters Township with his wife Monica (a local councilwoman) since 2004. Bill is a 1968 graduate of PTHS and since moving back into the township he has served the community as a councilman and currently hosts two local cable programs that can be seen on the Peters Township Cable channel. He has also participated on the PTSD Curriculum Committee in the area of Social Studies.

While serving in the Air Force, his last 13 years were spent as Superintendent of the Disaster Preparedness (Chemical, Nuclear and Biological Warfare). He retired in 1995 as a Senior Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. Post retirement, he took on the roles of Director of Safety and Security for A&L Inc. in Belle Vernon, PA and then as the Mid Atlantic Regional Safety Manager for Weeks Marine Inc. in Portsmouth, VA. Bill has recently become a teacher in a local school system and is instructing in the area of 8th grade Civics and Government.

Mr. Merrell holds dual teaching certificates in the areas of Social Studies and Instructional Technology. He has a graduate degree in Secondary Education from Duquesne University and a dual Master’s in Geography and Regional Planning from the California University of PA. Bill has also completed a Bachelors’ degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Legal Studies and an Associate’s Degree from the Community College of the Air Force in Safety Technology.

Sue Smith
Sue Smith and her husband have been residents of Peters Township since 2000. They have three children who have all graduated from Peters Township High School.
 
Mrs. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts and taught at the elementary level for six years. She also earned an MBA from the University of Illinois and spent years working for General Mills in Product Management. This gives her a unique set of qualifications for the school board : a background in both education and business management.
 
Sue has served the Peters Township schools in many volunteer roles including the PTA, the Assessment committee, the GPA committee and the Vision Committee. She has been Chairperson of the Education Committee of the School Board and has also served as the representative to the Pennsylvania School Board Association.
 
She was sworn in as a School Board Director in 2008.
