PT Receives $75,000 in Governor's Expanding Excellence Grant Program
Peters Township School District has been named as one of 17 districts from across Pennsylvania to receive the Governor’s Expanding Excellence Grants. The District will receive a total of $75,000 for programs at Peters Township High School, Peters Township Middle School and Pleasant Valley Elementary. The goal of this program is to pair high-performing schools with low-performing schools to increase overall student achievement.
Attention Parent Volunteers!
The District strongly supports the involvement of parents in our schools. Most often, these volunteers are under the direct supervision of teachers and staff members when they are with students in the building. However, when a volunteer is in contact with students without a teacher/staff member present, the District now requires that the necessary clearances are in place.
Monthly Highlights
At each month's Board Meeting we celebrate accomplishments throughout the District in the areas of academics, the arts, athletics, character education and leadership. This slide show begins each meeting - take a look!
School Performance Profiles Available
Beginning in 2013, school districts across Pennsylvania will now share student academic performance data using a School Performance Profile (SPP). While schools previously received a No Child Left Behind designation of “adequate yearly progress”, public schools will now receive an academic performance score. Overall our scores are excellent and reflect the high standards that our parents and community expect from our schools.
